Outfits

To change your outfit in Space click the OUTFIT window in the bottom menu.

Create Outfits

Click new to create a new outfit slot if you want to save multiple outfits.

Skeletons

You can create male and female outfits in multiple avatar skeleton categories (for instance the “native” Space avatar, the OpenSim avatar, which Space supports, or other custom avatar skeletons created and imported by third parties.)

Please note clothing items are tied to individual skeletons.

Facial sliders on some skeletons give you the option to customise each part of the face to create your own unique look.

Skin Tone Picker

The skin tone picker allows you to tint your skin, with a range of natural colors or some dramatic alien ones.

Avatar Size

Body shape slider allows you to scale up and down the size of your avatar, up to a maximum of 200 cm tall.

Wardrobe

Click Open Wardrobe to select different clothing items and then click Save and Close to save what you see as the current outfit.

Camera Focus

Use the head, body and leg buttons on the right to focus on different parts of the avatar as you preview different clothing items. You can pan and zoom using the arrow keys at the bottom or use the wheel and click and drag with the right mouse key.

Buying Clothes

Click shop in the bottom menu to open the store and browse clothes. You will only see clothes that can be worn by the skeleton and gender you are currently using.

Clothing Preview

You can preview any clothing item on your avatar, including pattern variations, before buying.

Gold and Silver

Silver credits are earned through your achievements inworld. Gold is purchased with real money.

It is up to individual virtual goods creators to decide which of their items can be bought with gold or with silver.

Wearing What You Buy

Once you buy a clothing item you can then close the store and open the OUTFIT window, or INVENTORY window to wear the new item immediately or to add it to a specific outfit.

Clothing Customisation

The results of customisation can be seen via every Space application, including webgl and mobile / tablet, but only the desktop application allows you to do your own customisation.

Click here to get the desktop application.

When you buy a clothing item using the Space desktop application you will have the option to customise. You can only customise an item at this point; once it has been added to your inventory it cannot be customised and you cannot change the customisation of a clothing item after saving your work.

Colour Tinting

Overall color tint allows you to add a single color to the whole clothing item.

Some clothing items are created to allow you to recolour different areas separately; clothing supporting this feature can be modified using the Primary, secondary and tertiary colour pickers.

Paint Mode

Paint mode allows you to add decals to clothing items, to make them completely unique to you.

Create a new layer, select a colour for your decal, select a decal and then use the placement and adjustment tools to align, size and rotate your decal.

You can create multiple layers from scratch or duplicate and modify existing ones to quickly and easily create unique patterns and styles.

Check the Clothing Customisation section of the store for more decal packs; or join our creators and add your own!

If you create something really special you can even add it to the auction system and allow other people to bid for it!
